The International Code Council has published the 2012 International Codes. This early release date will allow states and their municipalities to prepare and review local amendments to the codes before they go into affect in 2012. This will also be a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the latest editions to the I-codes and to get an early start in the adoption process.
Important revisions and updates affect automatic sprinkler systems (now required where furniture and mattresses are manufactured or stored, clarification of sprinkler protection requirements for upholstered furniture), wind and seismic design, solar cells (photovoltaic cells) on roofs, and many more. The ICC publishes a list of changes to the codes on their website (available as PDF here). The various code updates are available from the ICC website in soft cover, loose leaf, and PDF download (eCodes).
