People Helping PeopleOnce again, for the holiday season, Klausbruckner & Associates teamed up again with the ‘San Diego Coalition for the Homeless’ to create a Homeless Drive for the holiday season in an attempt to make a difference in our community. This drive was supported by local businesses, including Perfection Hair & Nail, and Dr. Richard Bialick, DDS.

The organization expressed a need for these care bags in El Cajon, as there is a large homeless population in the area. Our office, as well as friends of the company, made our way down with all of our care bags to help pass them out.

We spent the few weeks before the event creating the bags. Each care bag contains a warm comfortable sleeping bag, warm scarfs, pair of thick socks, granola bars, water bottles, and miscellaneous personal items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and tissues. In addition to these items, tarps were put into the care bags in anticipation of this year’s El Nino.

A total of 100 care bags were donated to the ‘San Diego Coalition of the Homeless’ and the ‘East County Transitional Living Center’.

Every year, we make these bags for individuals in need, and we truly love being able to be so involved. Each of us there had a chance to pass out the bags while having a chance to hear the many different stories and hardships from the homeless recipients. As always, we were humbled by their immense gratitude.

Our Homeless Drive was very rewarding and we hope to keep growing this annual event, so we can continue to help those in need! We would like to thank all the volunteers and friends for their support and for helping us in reaching out and making a difference in the lives of so many who have so little.
